At 8:20 p.m. on May 20, 2025, reporters reported that police officers from Chachoengsao City Police Station traveled to investigate a house in a village behind a shopping mall in Khlong Na Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chachoengsao Province after receiving a report from relatives that an elderly man had hanged himself to death inside the house.
The scene of the incident was a two-story townhouse. The surrounding villagers were seen gathering in front of one of the houses. Inside, the body of an elderly man was found lying dead at the foot of the stairs leading up to the second floor, near the back door leading to the kitchen. He was bound with a green nylon rope. He was wearing a pink polo shirt and black pants. His body was starting to turn dark green, especially his hands, which were almost completely black. He was later identified as Mr. Boonsri, 78 years old.
There was also something heartbreaking for those who saw it, a message written on a whiteboard inside the house. The message said: What a waste of the effort I spent raising you, that I have made the decision because of you, my son, you are gone. We were born as father and son, this is the only life that is enough. Whoever did this to me, please accept the consequences…3. People who have used up all of my labor… How can you say that? I don’t have any money to give you. I gave my son 20 baht to eat every day for each of them. Now that I have used up all of my labor, I am gone.
From asking the villagers, it was found that this morning, Mr. Boonsri sent a message via the Line application to bid farewell to his relatives in the Prachin Buri area. There was also a picture of about a handful of sleeping pills, more than 50 pills, being put into a kitchen stone mortar, ready to be pounded and mixed with water to drink. This caused the relatives to try to contact Mr. Boonsri’s three sons and daughters, but it turned out that everyone was busy working.
The neighboring villagers did not know that a tragic incident had occurred in the house since morning because Mr. Boonsri was normally a quiet person who did not bother anyone. Until around 8:00 p.m., his son and daughter-in-law returned to the house and found that Mr. Boonsri had taken an overdose of sleeping pills and had tried to hang himself, which led to his death. Mr. Boonsri had two sons and one daughter who were said to have been raised for 20 years each.
